The Commercial Market Strategies project in Morocco worked toward three objectives: to increase the sustainability of social marketing of reproductive and child health products and services (especially longterm contraceptive methods); to establish a network of reproductive and family health providers in the private sector; and to promote corporate social responsibility related to reproductive health (RH). This report looked at three groups of family planning (FP) providers in the private sector: pharmacists, general practitioners (GPs), and Ob-Gyns. Further integration of these providers into the Moroccan FP program is needed in order to promote the social marketing program, enlarge the private sector for FP, and increase the share of long-term methods in the market. In Morocco, general practitioners (GPs) are underused compared with specialist physicians, hospitals, and pharmacists. In response to this problem, CMS is developing and promoting group practices of family health providers that offer quality health services, including family planning. In general, all providers are well disposed to the goals of the Moroccan FP program, though remedial work in restoring the reputation of the product may be necessary.
