Private Providers' Interest and Willingness to Pay for Quality Improvement in Peru

In Peru, SHOPS conducted a study to identify the types of recognition mechanisms private providers prefer. This poster highlights four main findings:

  • There is a strong interest amongst private providers in quality improvement
  • Many are willing to pay to participate in a quality improvement program with a recognition component
  • Almost 50 percent would prefer the that the recognition component of the program be access to training and professional development opportunities
  • A third expressed a preference for a QI program with a recognition component operated by a professional association

It was presented by Caroline Quijada during a poster session at the International Conference on Family Planning in November 2013.

A research report from this study is also available on the SHOPS website.
