Study of Changamka's Maternity Savings Cards: Preliminary Evaluation Results

The presentation examines preliminary findings of the evaluation conducted on a pre-paid maternity savings card trial at Pumwani Hospital in Kenya from 2010 to 2011. The pre-paid maternity care savings card, offered by Changamka MicroHealth Limited, allowed families to save for prenatal visits, deliveries, and antenatal care visits. The Changamka pre-paid maternity savings card is now used at nine private hospitals in Nairobi and at hospitals in Mombasa and Naivasha.This presentation was made at the PSWG Quarterly Meeting on February 6, 2013.
