Nick Corby, innovation and best practice manager at Marie Stopes International, works with MSI teams, country programs, and partners to identify, analyze, and implement programmatic innovation and best practices. Corby co-wrote the SHOPS primer, Addressing the Need: Lessons for Service Delivery Organizations on Delivering Contracted-Out Family Planning and Reproductive Health Services. The publication draws on the many years of experience that MSI has with contracting health services.
In this video, Corby discusses best practices and key lessons. Speaking from a service delivery organization perspective, Corby highlights four advantages of contracting out: improving health services coverage, impact, quality, and cost-effectiveness. He also offers advice to service delivery organizations on how to successfully work with the public sector.
