This study sought to understand primary providers' knowledge, attitudes, and practices related to how they treated children under age five who had diarrhea. The survey found that while the majority of providers (88 percent) know about zinc treatment, about half of those 88 percent still see zinc as a nutritional supplement only and inappropriately recommend co-treatment with antibiotics and antimicrobials. The presentation describes the study design, research questions, and findings.
