Côte d’Ivoire Private Health Sector Assessment

This brief is a summary of the Côte d’Ivoire private health sector assessment, conducted by the SHOPS project. Thierry Uwamahoro prepared this brief, which presents the assessment methods, findings, and the following key recommendations for improving public-private health sector collaboration and engaging the private sector for its greater involvement in the national HIV response:

1. Create a forum for public-private dialogue

2. Create a social franchise or provider network for HIV and AIDS services

3. Expand health insurance pools to increase health coverage

4. Produce ARVs locally
