Living Good No / Poor Treaters Report

Living Goods conducted this suvey in Uganda to understand the barriers that "no and poor treating" households face in treating their children under 5 promptly and correctly when they are sick and the barriers that exist while seeking products and services from a Living Goods CHP.  The survey was also used to develop insights about this "no and poor treating" group that will help develop strategies and messages to convert this group into "correct treaters".

In order to reach these objectives, in-depth interviews with "no or poor treaters" were carried out and the rural areas of Nsangi and in the urban areas of Bwaise.

The study found that there was no major difference in answers between the rural and urban groups, and in the future with proper guidance and teaching it would be easy to turn a low treater into a complete treater.  It would be much more difficult to turn no treaters into treaters because most of them are unwilling to leave traditional methods or learn about the correct methods.
