Private Midwife Provision of IUDs: Lessons from the Philippines (Brief)

This case study identifies enabling factors that help to ensure viable provision of IUDs by private midwives, based on the experiences of midwives from two major franchises in the Philippines. The study team gathered information from structured and unstructured interviews of midwives, franchise network staff and other stakeholders, and service provision data. The findings can be used to replicate private midwives’ provision of IUDs in the Philippines and in similar country contexts. Robin L. Keeley prepared this brief.
