In this presentation, Ilana Ron Levey, Thierry van Bastelaer, and Tanvi Pandit discuss findings and recommendations from their assessment of the private health sector in Botswana. The assessment, which was commission by USAID and approved by the Ministry of Health, was intended to provide evidence and guidance to key stakeholders on how to best leverage private health sector resources for both service delivery and financing, in light of decreasing donor funding in Botswana. It includes recommendations for sustaining PEPFAR investments in priority HIV services, including male circumcision and HIV counseling and testing. This presentation was given to key stakeholders as part of a debrief at the end of the team’s data collection trip.
