This presentation gives an overview of the elements of successful public-private partnerships in family planning. It looks at the standard "4 P's" of the marketing mix (product, price, place, and promotion) and addresses three additional "P's": partnership (broad coalition), policy (the enabling environment) and people (focus on the consumer). These elements are the ingredients of effective public-private partnerships in building a national market for family planning, resulting in increased contraceptive prevalence with a measure of sustainability. The presentation includes country examples from Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, and Morocco.
